The thing I enjoy most about being a master dyer is the diversity of things that I can dye. I’m not just limited to yarn, or overdyeing a shirt that has faded; the choices are almost limitless! One natural fiber that I have enjoyed working with is silk.
I am sharing some examples here of a few of the scarves that are for sale on my website www.artisticewe.com. All of my scarves are 100% Chinese silk. Chinese silk is the best you can buy and it never fails to please me when I work with it.
My scarves come in a variety of sizes ranging from 35” x 35” squares, to rectangles of 58” x 10”, 65” x 12” and more. When dyed, each scarf becomes one-of-a-kind and cannot be repeated. So, when you purchase one of my scarves, you will never see anyone else wearing it!
I think silk scarves and wool scarves go together perfectly. There are patterns available that allow you to “weave” the two fibers together to create one scarf.
I’m considering dyeing silk scarves to match/complement some of my yarn. Would you like to see this as an option to buy? Please post your comments; I would love to know what you think.
Until next time, remember: There is an artist in you!
